Boomtown Festival is arguably the best underground music festival in the world. It's won awards for best festival production, and over 60,000 people flock to the Matterly Bowl every year to immerse themselves into it's outrageous wonderland.

For us it's a family affair and our love for Boomtown is at the very core of what we do. When we started Immortal we had very simple goals, to work with Glastonbury, and to play a part in Boomtown's insane production and we're proud to say we've achieved both in ways we never imagined.
In 2023, alongside another huge AV Boomtown Project for Born on Road, and running Dubtendo's AV, we were asked to animate the visuals for the opening ceremony; working with a team of Boomtown's in hyper talented in house creatives and external music producers we created a 20 minute long timecoded video to play across the giant video walls on its two main stages. Timecoding video is where you animate visuals to audio to create an immersive experience, with Boomtown its far more than that, it's a creation to compliment a huge choreographed production with actors, dancers, acrobats, SFX and lighting, all meticulously crafted to help tell Boomtowns story across its two main stages to mark the opening of the festival.

Last year in 2024, we were invited back to help again and asked to contribute even more. This time to again create opening, and also assist with the closing ceremony, the climax of the entire festival. To play a part in both Boomtown's welcome, and goodbye to all its citizens across two main stages simultaneously, with all the incredible choreography of its performers, world class lighting and SFX and monumental stage designs on both Origin and Grand Central, has literally been bucket list stuff for us as creatives.

Here's our contribution to 2024s Closing Ceremony
Working as part of a huge machine of creatives and tech production, all working on separate elements of one major production is demanding, but its an environment we thrive in. Then to watch all it come together on the day alongside tens of thousands of people is a feeling you can't describe.
We're forever thankful to Mair and her team for the opportunity of a lifetime and we hope to play a part in the story of Boomtown for years to come.
